Scheduling options down to Option A or B

The input process has concluded and the choice is clear - either Option A (current schedule) or Option B (current schedule with a late start on one day). Over 600 people responded to the on-line survey with the majority selecting Option B, but Option A was a close second. The faculty voted as well - and the same results occurred. The late start option is being studied further before a final decision is made to institute this for the fall. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback during this process - I realize it created some stress - but the process worked and I believe we learned more about ourselves because of it.

I personally prefer the schedule as it is. I think that kids like the idea of late start, but so many kids at Central have to commute across town that when you factor in traffic, we won't be leaving that much later than on a regular school day. I don't feel that having a schedule change is necessary. Every schedule is going to have its problems, but overall, I feel that our current schedule has been effective. I don't feel the need to try to fix something that doesn't really need fixing.

I can agree that our current schedule is working quite well. As a slightly newer student it works much better than others I have seen. As for the traffic situation, I have to drive down Chesnut everyday and get stuck in traffic. So either way, it's no different. The late start could benefit the staff for staff meetings or anything else they may need the extra time in the morning to prepare for.

Late start creates opportunities for kids to get into trouble. Why would you want a bunch of kids bussed in who are hanging around the school with nothing to do? How does this benefit the students? It seems to me that this is being considered for the convenience of the teachers only.
